SBA Issues Notice Regarding PPP Loan Reporting
The SBA issued a procedural notice outlining the process for reporting Paycheck Protection Program loans to the SBA. The notice also outlines what lenders need to do to collect the processing fee on fully disbursed, eligible loans.

At the 82nd Maine Credit Union League Annual Meeting on May 15, the Board of Directors elected officers for 2020-2021. Joann Bisson, CEO of Trademark FCU, will serve as the League’s new Board Chair.

Raising Awareness About Taxable COVID-19 Unemployment Benefits
According to a recent article in the Portland Press Herald, more than 138,000 people have filed for unemployment benefits since March. Filers don’t get to keep 100% of the assistance they receive. Unemployment benefits are taxable in the state of Maine and at the federal level.
