Governor’s Economic Recovery Committee Issues First Report
Governor Janet Mills created the Economic Recovery Committee (ERC) to develop recommendations for reviving Maine’s economy. The ERC submitted a report to the Governor on July 15, providing recommendations to support and stabilize Maine’s economy during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Ending Hunger Golf Tournament Is Going Virtual This September
The League’s annual convention Campaign for Ending Hunger Golf Tournament is an event our credit unions look forward to each spring. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, our popular tournament was postponed to September. After further consideration, we have decided to move our in-person golf tournament to a virtual format.

Maine State CU Invests in Maine's Future Workforce
Maine State CU has established a scholarship in the name of its late CEO, Normand R. Dubreuil, with a $50,000 donation to The Foundation for Maine’s Community College System and Maine Maritime Academy. The scholarship will award need-based grants to Maine residents pursuing an education in the trades and technology.

Even our youngest members understand the importance of People Helping People. This past weekend, 6-year-old Arabella celebrated her birthday by selling flowers to benefit Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Maine Highlands FCU Makes Significant Donation to Support Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department
Earlier this week, Maine Highlands FCU donated $145,000 to Piscataquis County to support the purchase of a new home for the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office. The donation is the largest single donation Maine Highlands FCU has provided to an organization to date.
