Atlantic FCU Foundation Hits a Home Run with Donation to End Hunger in Maine
Atlantic FCU Foundation is proud to announce a $7,080 donation to the Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. This donation is the result of a commitment to donate $10 for every run that the Portland Sea Dogs scored this season. The Portland Sea Dogs scored 708 runs, the 3rd most in the Eastern League!
Five County CU Strongly Supports Maine's Ag Industry
Maine has been at the forefront of confronting the difficulties for farmers created by PFAS contamination. The state’s response has come from government departments, agricultural service providers, non-profits, and select lenders. Through its Maine Harvest Solutions Program, Five County CU has actively participated in the response as well, collaborating with stakeholders and helping farmers and producers.
TruChoice FCU Participates in a Day of Giving Back
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, TruChoice FCU enjoyed a day giving back to important organizations across Southern Maine. The TruCrew volunteered at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Animal Welfare Society, Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals (MSSPA), Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, and Westbrook Food Pantry.
Stoliker Receives Credit Union Compliance Expert Certification
Acadia FCU is delighted to share that Brian Stoliker, Vice President of Risk Management, has recently completed the necessary studies and testing to become a Credit Union Compliance Expert. The CUCE designation was created by CUNA to help credit union compliance professionals gain and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current regulatory environment for credit unions.
Seaboard FCU Has a Spooktacular Time in Bucksport
The town of Bucksport knows how to celebrate Halloween, and so does the team at Seaboard FCU. The credit union was a proud sponsor of Bucksport’s annual Ghostport celebration. The day featured a Lil’ Goblin Parade, brunch with witches, vendors, food, and more—including a family-friendly dance in the Seaboard FCU’s Spooky Shelter near the Bucksport Historical Society.
Hannaford Helps Us Fight Hunger in Bangor
Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has once again been selected to receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag sold at Hannaford’s Bangor location on Broadway during the month of November. The Campaign will also receive $0.25 from every Hannaford Snack Pals Plate sold at this same store next month.

The Maine Credit Union League will be hosting a Young Professionals Network (YPN) event in Augusta on Thursday, November 16. This special event will highlight the important role advocacy plays in helping our credit unions achieve their public policy goals.
NCUA Letter to Credit Unions (23-CU-08): Resumption of Federal Student Loan Payments
As federal student loan payments restart, some credit union members may have difficulty meeting their repayment obligations. The resulting increase in total repayment obligations may also negatively impact members’ ability to repay other outstanding loans. In response, the NCUA has issued a letter to credit unions providing guidance on this matter.

The League Joins The County FCU in Mourning the Loss of Darlene Grass
The League joins The County FCU in mourning their dear friend and colleague, Darlene Grass, who passed away on October 11. She served as the credit union’s Internal Auditor until just weeks before she passed from her illness, and was always positive, cheerful, and kind.
Dirigo FCU Strikes It Big with Its Annual Bowling Event
On October 8, Dirigo FCU hosted its annual ‘Bowling for Ending Hunger’ event to raise money for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. With 16 teams participating and strong support from members, the credit union raised over $3,000 to help combat food insecurity.
