On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, TruChoice FCU enjoyed a day giving back to important organizations across Southern Maine. The TruCrew volunteered at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, Good Shepherd Food Bank, Animal Welfare Society, Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals (MSSPA), Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center, and Westbrook Food Pantry.
At Good Shepherd Food Bank, 4,514 pounds of food was processed by the TruCrew! At MSSPA, volunteers assisted around the barn and painted. Staff members who visited the hospital provided a delicious spread of breakfast foods for families and staff in the In-Patient Unit and NICU.
Volunteering at these organizations and seeing the incredible work they do every day was a rewarding experience for the TruCrew. In addition to volunteering their time, a donation was made to each organization the credit union visited.
