Calling All YPs! Join Us for Networking and Advocacy in Augusta

The Maine Credit Union League will be hosting a Young Professionals Network (YPN) event in Augusta on Thursday, November 16. This special event will highlight the important role advocacy plays in helping our credit unions achieve their public policy goals.

The event will begin at 11:00 am in the Appropriations & Financial Affairs Committee Room, located in the State House (Room 228). Young Professionals (YPs) will engage in roundtable discussions with legislators and young government officials, including financial regulators. After breaking for a provided lunch, attendees will experience a guided tour of the State House and then participate in a hands-on advocacy training. To close out the event, YPs may get a special Blaine House tour.

“I know the legislative process can be intimidating,” said Robert Caverly, League Vice President of Advocacy & Outreach. “However, at the advocacy event, we’re hopeful young professionals at Maine credit unions will learn their voice matters, and that they leave feeling confident and empowered when interacting with their elected officials going forward.”

If attendees would like to keep the fun going following the event, there will be an optional happy hour held at Cushnoc Brewing Co. immediately following. Light appetizers will be provided.

The cost to attend is $50 per person. To register for the event, please click here.

If you have any questions about the event, please email Jake Holmes at jholmes@mainecul.org.
