League Social Responsibility Award Winners Announced
Community service, member education, and financial literacy—these are just some of the ways Maine credit unions give back. To honor their efforts, the League presented social responsibility awards to five credit unions in four distinct categories.
Saying Thanks to a Distinguished Credit Union Leader
At his last Annual Convention as CEO of Maine State Credit Union, Tucker Cole was presented with several awards to recognize his years of dedicated service to the credit union industry in Maine.
Elizabeth Keene Named This Year’s Outstanding Credit Union Volunteer
Elizabeth Keene, Board Vice Chair at Community CU, has been awarded the Alexander Ferguson Award. This award recognizes an outstanding credit union volunteer.
Credit Union Employees Shine at League Convention Awards
Three incredibly deserving credit union employees were recognized with awards at the League’s Convention. Joann Bisson, Executive Vice President at Oxford FCU, was presented with the President’s Award honoring the outstanding League volunteer; Chandra Thoits, Human Resource Specialist II at Midcoast FCU, was presented the Jeannette G. Morin Award honoring the outstanding credit union employee; and Patty Kenney, Community Relations Manager at Casco FCU, was presented the Diane L. Oceretko Award.
Golf Tournament Notables
On May 12, 140 golfers participated in the annual Ending Hunger Golf Tournament at the Belgrade Lakes Golf Club. While the event was not competitive in nature, four golfers are being recognized for hitting the longest drive, securing closest to the pin, and winning the Synergent putting contest.

Registration Now Open for Webinar on Protecting Older Americans
The National Credit Union Administration will host a webinar for credit unions looking to protect their older members on May 19 at 1:00 pm. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Office of Older Americans will join with the NCUA’s Division of Consumer Affairs to give credit union participants an overview of elder financial exploitation, resources to inform prevention, and tools to report abuse.

Atlantic FCU Insurance is proud to announce that Stacey Chenevert has been announced President/CEO of the agency. Serving as the Senior VP of Retail at Atlantic FCU for the past nine years, Stacey has been an advisor to the insurance agency.
