Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions to Host 10th Annual Snowmobile Run

The Aroostook Chapter of Credit Unions is holding its 10th Annual Snowmobile Run on February 10 to benefit Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, Special Olympics Maine, and the Credit Union Legislature Action Council (CULAC). Midcoast FCU Announces New Employees and Expands Field of Membership
Midcoast FCU is pleased to welcome two new employees to their team. April Chubbuck joins the credit union as a Member Services Representative for the Edgecomb and Bath locations, and Nicole Main is the new Payment Solutions Specialist I. Main will work from the credit union’s Edgecomb location. In addition, Midcoast FCU announced it has expanded its field of membership to include Waldo and Cumberland Counties.
Maine Credit Unions Spend Over 13,000 Hours Volunteering in 2021
Maine credit union employees annually contribute thousands of hours in volunteer time to a variety of organizations and causes. In 2021, credit unions reported a total of 13,309.64 volunteer hours, worth approximately $379,857 in donated time. University CU, Community CU, New Dimensions FCU, Gardiner FCU, and Midcoast FCU contributed the most hours in donated time, with each logging 1,000 hours or more.

Portland Mask Mandate and Hazard Pay Changes
On Monday, the Portland City Council instituted a mask mandate for businesses in the city. During their meeting, they also lifted the State of Emergency order, removing the hazard pay requirement for minimum wage employees effective January 13.
