CUSO Home Lending Announces New VP Residential Mortgage Sales Manager
CUSO Home Lending is pleased to announce that Nicole Savage has joined their team as its Vice President Residential Mortgage Sales Manager. In this role, Savage will drive CUSO’s marketing strategy and set sales objectives for their residential mortgage program in Maine and New Hampshire.
Maine State CU Provides $100,000 to Help Send Mainers to College
The Board of Directors at Maine State CU recently voted to donate $100,000 to the Normand R. Dubreuil scholarship fund at the Maine Community College System and Maine Maritime Academy. Since its inception, Maine State CU has funded the endowment with over $230,000 and helped more than 135 Mainers work towards their associate’s and bachelor’s degrees.
Community Recycle Day Returns to Auburn
To celebrate Earth Day, Community CU is hosting a Community Recycle Day. This drive-thru event will take place from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm on April 16 and offer Auburn area residents a convenient way to shred documents, recycle items, or donate clean reusable resources to the SHAREcenter.

New Pilot Program to Provide Financial Education at Food Pantries
Improving the financial lives of all Mainers is an important priority for Maine credit unions. To help us achieve this mission, the League has joined with Good Shepherd Food Bank and New Ventures Maine to launch a financial literacy pilot program with two community food pantries: Kaydenz Kitchen Food Pantry in Lewiston and Friends Helping Friends in Easton. As part of this effort, a series of educational brochures will be shared with food pantry clients to help them improve their money management skills.
League-Brokered Deal on Towing Fee Increase Signed Into Law
LD 1876, An Act Regarding Abandoned Motor Vehicle Storage Fees, has been enacted by the Maine Legislature and signed into law by Governor Mills. This bill was brought forward by towing companies seeking to increase the monthly fee that can be charged for an abandoned vehicle.
