Credit Report Basics : Wednesday, June 9 & Thursday, June 10 – 10:00-11:30 a.m.

Lending Basics is a 3 course, 6 webinar series that will guide participants through the key attributes of the consumer lending process, familiarizing them with common terms and features.

These courses cover the basic principles of credit and lending and explain the lending process from start to finish. The course is meant for new loan officers, member service representatives and lending employees looking to learn and expand on their lending knowledge.

Credit Report Basics:

Our member’s credit report plays an important role when making lending decisions. This class will cover the essentials of the credit report and participants will gain an understanding of the information included in credit reports, where it comes from and how it is used. Topics include:

• Credit report organization
• Credit report information
• FICO and vantage scores and their differences
• Factors impacting the credit score

Lending and Sales:

Establishing productive relationships with members is essential to every credit union’s existence. This class will cover the essentials of becoming a trusted member advisor and participants will gain an understanding of how to spot opportunities to deepen the relationship with their members. Topics include:

• Spotting sales opportunities
• Listening and observing skills to recognize member needs
• Spotting red flags and areas of concern

Fundamentals of Lending:

Understanding the key attributes of consumer lending is important to providing full service to members. This class will cover the fundamentals of the lending process so that participants understand common lending terminology and features. Topics include:

• Key lending terminology and terms
• Characteristics of credit and credit analysis
• Risk based lending
