What the Board Really Needs to Know About Cybersecurity
October 22 I 4:00 – 5:00 pm I Rayleen Pirnie
Focusing on the critical aspects of Operational Resilience in your credit union, this session will explain why Cybersecurity isn’t simply “an IT problem.” Join this session to understand regulator expectations and state legal requirements, define the key components of Operational Resilience (escalation strategies, scenario testing), document unique roles of every position including the Board, and identify resources that can assist you in developing a successful cyber response plan

The Regulatory Landscape in 2020 And Beyond
October 29 I 4:00 – 5:00 pm I Rayleen Pirnie
This session explores the three top areas with dramatic changes: BSA, The role of the CFPB and Consumer Protection. BSA and consumer protection are highlighted as part of NCUA’s supervisory priorities. States are beginning to implement their own consumer protection and BSA laws and the recent court determinations creates a unique environment for the CFPB moving forward. The Board plays a critical role in the credit unions compliance and it’s important to understand what we know, what we expect in the future, and how to keep current on this drastically changing environment.

How to Attract Next Generation Board Members
November 5 I 4:00 – 5:00 pm I Josh Allison
Ideally your CU board resembles the demographic of the members you have and the members you want. An age diverse board represents the broad range of services appropriate to the credit union’s membership. Assembling a balanced board is challenging but critical to a credit union’s stability and future success. New volunteers will not come looking for you, and a strategic approach to board recruitment must be a top priority. Join this session and learn important considerations and strategies for recruiting your next generation board members.

As a director, you play a critical role in the direction and guidance of your credit union. But are you covering all areas of your responsibility effectively? We’ll dive into seven essentials for guiding your organization into the future. Key objectives include four things every Credit Union board member should know; changes affecting the future of Credit Union movement, and the role of the Volunteer in it; how to leverage the Feedback Loop for better Volunteer and Executive communication; and the Reciprocal Law of Leadership and its role in Credit Union governance.
