2025 Ending Hunger $100,000 Challenge

Record-Breaking Success in 2025

In October, the League brought back the $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge. In its sixth year, we asked credit unions and their members to help us raise $100,000 in just one month to support Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Thanks to incredible generosity, we collectively raised a record-breaking $238,217 for our hungry neighbors in need—more than doubling our goal!

October Challenge Celebrates Collaboration and Cooperation

The Challenge is a powerful way to engage your community while showcasing the credit union difference. Together, we create meaningful change for neighbors in need.

As done in years past, 25% percent of funds raised online during the Challenge benefited Good Shepherd Food Bank. The Food Bank received $35,912.67 as a result of this year’s initiative.

October also celebrates International Credit Union Day and CU Kind Day, which provided an opportunity to unite and raise awareness to end hunger in Maine.

  • CU Kind Day | October 13: Offers a chance to foster generosity, goodwill, and well-being for those we serve.
  • International Credit Union Day | October 16: Showcases our industry’s collective efforts to address food insecurity in Maine.

We are grateful for the outpouring of support the Campaign received in 2025.
