Hike the Hill With Us This Fall


Planning is underway for the League’s annual Hike the Hill trip to Washington, DC. This year’s journey to our nation’s capital will take place October 23 – 25. Hike the Hill is an important part of the League’s legislative advocacy efforts, and we hope your credit union will be interested in joining us.

What to Expect

Hike the Hill will start with a legislative briefing at Credit Union House on Monday, October 23. A specific time for the briefing will be finalized, but it will likely begin at 4:00 pm. CUNA’s legislative staff will provide an update on credit union issues at the federal level and underscore key talking points for our meetings with our congressional delegation and regulators.

Following our visit to the Credit Union House, the League will host a dinner for all attendees at a location to be announced. Meetings with all four members of our delegation and their staff will take place throughout the day on Tuesday. We anticipate meeting with credit union regulators on Wednesday with meetings running into the afternoon.

If you need assistance booking your flight, please contact Kelley Souza via email at ksouza@mainecul.org. Most attendees, including League staff, will be traveling on October 23 and and returning during the late afternoon or evening on October 25.

The League has a block of rooms reserved at the AC Hotel Capitol Hill Navy Yard and secured the same room rate as last year ($329 a night). Please register on the League’s website by September 15 to reserve a room.

Depending on the level of interest, the total number of representatives from a single credit union may need to be limited. The League will contact CEOs directly if an issue arises.
