Fight Hunger Bag Program to Benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger at Two Hannaford Locations this Month

Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has once again been selected to receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag sold at Hannaford Supermarket’s Augusta location at 29 Whitten Road and its Brewer location at 383 Wilson Street. This special fundraiser will run June 1 – June 30.

If your credit union has a branch located within a short drive of either location, or if you have friends and family that live in the area, we hope you will consider sharing information about this unique fundraiser. The Whitten Road (Augusta) and Wilson Street (Brewer) stores are the only locations where a Fight Hunger Bag purchase will benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger during National Hunger Awareness Month. All funds raised will be directed into the Campaign’s general account.

Hannaford has created a variety of promotional materials credit unions can use to help advertise the fundraiser. Materials include:

The Fight Hunger Bags are located on displays around each of the stores and at the checkout lanes. Buying a bag is a simple and environmentally friendly way to support the Campaign throughout the month of June.
