$100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge Has Begun

Our fourth annual $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge has officially begun! This means it will be a busy few weeks working together to raise $100,000 in just 30 days for Good Shepherd Food Bank, local food pantries, and meal sites. If your credit union has not yet committed to helping with the Challenge, now is a great time to join this important effort and get your members engaged, as well. Lend your name to our Contributor’s page, promote the Challenge on your social media feeds, host an event, and/or organize a donation collection at your branch(es). The possibilities are endless!

The League has developed a number of resources to help credit unions raise awareness about the Challenge and we are working hard to secure earned media coverage to engage the general public. There also is a special incentive for credit unions to act. The League/Synergent will be providing the three credit unions that raise the most money during the Challenge with a $500 bonus that they can use to support a hunger-relief effort in their communities. Take the challenge and pass it on during National Hunger Awareness Month. Together we can help ensure Mainers have access to the healthy, culturally-appropriate food they need to thrive.

Please email Jen Burke at jburke@mainecul.org or Lauren McCallum at lmccallum@mainecul.org if you need assistance or if you have questions about this fundraiser.
