The End Is Within Sight For the 130th Maine Legislature
Earlier this week, the Legislature met to enact a series of spending bills, signaling the end of substantive work for the Second Regular Session of the 130th Maine Legislature. The Legislature plans to reconvene for a final time on May 9 to take up any vetoes issued by Governor Mills. It is anticipated that following the consideration of the Governor’s vetoes, the Legislature will adjourn for the final time.
Leagues, CUNA Call on CFPB for 'Open and Transparent' Rulemaking
The Credit Union Times reports on the letter sent to House and Senate Committees from CUNA and credit union leagues from across the country, including Maine, arguing that the CFPB is not fulfilling its mission “to make consumer financial markets work for consumers.”

League Reinforces Its Commitment to End Hunger by 2030 Through New AmeriCorps Opportunity
Maine credit unions and the Maine Credit Union League have long been united in our work to end one of the most pervasive problems in our state: hunger. While our credit union network has done an exceptional job raising money to support local and statewide hunger relief organizations, money—while important—won’t end hunger in our state. To help the League expand our efforts, we have been accepted to participate in the AmeriCorps VISTA program and will be hosting a volunteer to assist us with the Campaign.
Northeast CU Welcomes Bob Drouin as Its New Vice President Controller
