Join the Maine Credit Union League in Washington, DC, for the annual Governmental Affairs Conference

The Governmental Affairs Conference is our opportunity to highlight the meaningful work credit unions are doing to improve the financial well-being of their members and communities.

In addition to the programming offered by America’s Credit Unions, we will have Maine specific events and meetings to deepen our connections to each other and our federal representatives.

As in years past, we will be making a group reservation for Maine credit unions that will be attending the conference in Washington, DC, from March 3 – March 7, 2024.  We will once again be staying at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel, 999 9th Street, NW, Washington, DC. The rate for the rooms will be $324 per night plus applicable taxes.

A deposit will not be collected at the time of your reservation. However, please note that a credit card is required to input each reservation. Reservations cancelled from December 18 to the day of arrival at the hotel are subject to one night’s room and tax.

Hotel confirmation numbers will be sent in mid-February 2024.

The GAC Conference Schedule (as of today) is listed below.  We are currently planning our special Maine based programming for League attendees and will share that information as soon as we can.

  • 1:30 – 3:30 pm – Small CU Roundtable
  • 4:00 – 5:00 pm – General Session – ED Talks – Sponsored by Councils
  • 6:00pm – Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse Dinner
  • 5:00 – 7:00 pm – Exhibit Hall Grand Opening

Monday, March 4

  • 8:00 – 9:15 am – Exhibit Hall/Breakfast
  • 9:30 – 11:30 am – Opening General Session
  • 11:30 – 12:45 pm – Exhibit Hall/Lunch
  • 1:00 – 2:45 pm – General Session
  • 3:15 – 4:30 pm – Breakout sessions
  • 5:30 pm – Wegner Awards/Dinner (separate registration required)

Tuesday, March 5

  • 8:00 – 9:15 am – Exhibit Hall/Breakfast
  • 9:30 – 11:30 am – General Session
  • 11:30 – 1:00 pm – Exhibit Hall/Lunch
  • 1:00 – 2:15 pm –  Breakout Sessions
  • 2:30 – 3:45 pm –Breakout sessions
  • 3:45 – 5:00 pm – Exhibit Hall Open and Closing reception

Wednesday, March 6

  • 9:00 – 11:00 am – Closing General Session
  • 7:00 pm – Closing GAC Party/Event
