Annual Ending Hunger Fundraising Results Luncheon

NEW LOCATION – Hilton Garden Inn Freeport Downtown
5 Park Street | Freeport
Tuesday, February 13, 2024
11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Doors will open at 11:15 am

Please join us for a special ceremony and lunch at the Hilton Garden Inn Freeport Downtown to celebrate our shared Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. The Campaign’s overall fundraising results for 2023 will be announced and the top credit union fundraisers will be recognized.

This year’s special event will feature two guest speakers from The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital: Dr. Amy Buczkowski and Dr. Jennifer Jewell. They will highlight the efforts the hospital is making to assist food insecure patients and their families while in their care. With the backing of sixteen credit unions, the League, and Synergent, the Campaign provided the hospital with a $14,000 donation earlier this year to support their important outreach work to combat hunger.

About Our Guest Speakers:

Amy Buczkowski is a Pediatric and Newborn Hospitalist at Maine Medical Center’s Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Due to her interest in addressing health-related social needs, she also leads the BBCH Inpatient Food and Diaper Insecurity Program. Dr. Buczkowski joined BBCH in 2018 and resides in Freeport.

Jennifer Jewell is a hospital-based pediatrician in Maine with an interest is social influences of health and wellness. She arrived in Maine in 1998 from Boston University School of Medicine, and now considers Maine home.

Credit unions are asked to limit their registrants to three per credit union. Additional guests may be accommodated as space allows.
