KV FCU is hiring a Business Development Manager at its Waterville location.
Role:
The role of the Business Development Manager is to develop a sustainable financial growth strategy while promoting member satisfaction. The candidate must have proven work experience as a business development manager, sales executive, or relevant role. The candidate should also possess excellent member service skills to build long -term relationships with new and existing members and provide informed and professional support to all employees of the KVFCU team.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- (20%) Oversee and manage all digital channels for the credit union. Assist with day-to-day messaging; update and manage social media and e-newsletter. Create, maintain, and implement digital marketing.
- (15%) Oversees a call program that includes contacting existing members to maintain and expand banking relationships and contacting prospective members to develop new business.
- (15%) Represent the credit union. Promote the credit union during after-hours events such as business after hours, business expo, and Financial Fitness Fairs. Participate in credit union events such as chapter meetings and Maine Credit Union League sponsored functions.
- (15%) Develops promotional strategies to meet business development goals; develops promotional materials.
- (10%) Responsible for department personnel maintaining high product knowledge by determining and finding opportunities for learning new selling techniques, new products, and market trends.
- (5%) Identifies cross-sell opportunities and cross-sell services to members through in-person sales sessions as well as by telephone, written correspondence, and external sales calls.
- (5%) Oversees training sessions for all employees to enhance their awareness of the business development plan and services available to existing and potential members.
- (5%) Generate, share and reply to online reviews in a positive and open manner.
- (5%) Discusses member needs, problems, or complaints, and arranges for meetings between members or prospective members and representatives of various functional areas.
- (5%) Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Produce new business development strategies designed around financial growth and member satisfaction, to a specified volume or dollar value.
- Provide direction and recommendations to management, based on current research data, regarding the business development strategies and directions the credit union should take.
- Maintain an excellent knowledge of financial services offered by the credit union and be knowledgeable of competitors’ services.
- Ensure all activities within the department are carried out within prescribed time frames and with zero unresolved errors and no errors resulting in losses to the credit union.
- Maintain a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily department demands.
- Develop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements to products, pricing and processes by monitoring trends in operations and the financial industry.
- Ensure direct reports achieve all their individual goals.
- Provide informed, prompt, professional and accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- Ensure all communications (such as brochures, website, signs, etc.) are accurate, timely and within credit union guidelines.
- Proactively participate in regular networking opportunities within the community as a representative of the credit union.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g., information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
Interpersonal Skills: Motivating or influencing others is a material part of the job. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. The role requires a significant level of trust or diplomacy.
Other Skills: Must have good communication skills. Some graphic design skills are desirable.
