Accounting Specialist I

Maine State CU is hiring an Accounting Specialist I at its Augusta location. 

Description:  

This position is responsible for posting and balancing daily General Ledger transactions and the reconciliation of credit union accounts. It requires an understanding of general bookkeeping principles and some knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The Accounting Specialist works with other departments to settle daily transaction activity. 

*PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS AN ON-SITE, IN-PERSON POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN STATE OF MAINE, POSSIBLE HYBRID OPPORTUNITY ONCE FULLY TRAINED* 

Qualifications: 

Must have high school diploma and some educational background in bookkeeping and/or accounting principles. Practical experience may be substituted for educational background. Prior bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred. 1-3 years of similar or related experience.
