Faster than an upcoming exam, more informed than a compliance novice and with a neck strong enough to hold all the many hats- it’s a Super Compliance Officer! Each day you don your cape and set out to manage piles of regulation, guidance and monitoring reports all to protect your bank from violations and avoid practices that would result in…consumer harm.

This jam-packed session will go beyond the basics and dive deep into the complex areas of regulatory compliance you are faced with every day. We will review the requirements applicable to you and your institution and will provide resources and tools to help you strengthen and enhance your compliance program. No spandex required. Topics covered will include:

Reg E Error Resolution: Avoiding Mistakes  (Procedures to Process ACH, Debit Card, P2P and Remittance Transfer Errors): We will review the specific error resolution requirements of Reg E, discuss procedural best practices and provide tips on documenting your investigation. We will dive into the CFPB’s FAQs as well as recent examination findings to identify the errors most commonly made by financial institutions during the error resolution process. In addition, we will detail how to review your error resolution process, including how your audit procedures can help mitigate risk for both the accountholder and your institution.

Wire Transfers: Establishing Controls and Managing Fraud: In this session, we will cover the regulatory requirements for both domestic and international wires and discuss how to identify and react to possible wire fraud attempts. In addition, we will identify vulnerabilities in systems and processes that can expose financial institutions to cyberattacks and increase liability. We will discuss the requirements of Reg J, Fed Operating Circulars and UCC-4A and how each impacts your institution’s liability  You will be provided with tools to support and enhance your wire transfer compliance program.

UDAAP violations can cause significant financial injury to consumers, erode consumer confidence, and undermine the financial marketplace.  Bottom line – everyone wants to avoid UDAAP issues!

UDAAP: Building a Strong Program : Consumer complaints play a key role in detecting potential UDAAP issues and are an essential information source for regulatory examinations, enforcement, and rule-making.  Complaints also have the potential to flag compliance management weaknesses, including training, internal controls, and monitoring.  During this session we will review best practices, procedures, and tools to strengthen your UDAAP compliance program!
