On Wednesday, the League hosted a breakfast in Lewiston and luncheon in South Portland with state House and Senate winners, credit union employees, and volunteers.   The events provided newly elected members of the Legislature an opportunity learn more about the state’s credit union movement and meet some of the friendly faces representing Maine’s credit unions from their districts.

“The League hosts these “Welcome” events because we know our members want to meet the individuals who will be representing them in Augusta,” said Elise Baldacci, MECUL Vice President of Governmental Affairs.  “It is also important for these representatives to get a better understanding of our policy priorities before the legislative session and there is no one better equipped to communicate that message than our members themselves.”

“Welcome” events scheduled in Presque Isle, Bangor, and Augusta were postponed due to inclement weather.  The League hopes to reschedule in those communities in the coming weeks.
