Two Maine CUs announce new Portland branches

In the past two weeks, two Maine credit unions have announced plans to build new branches, both to be located in Portland.  cPort CU revealed its plans to build a new branch on Middle Street in Portland, while Maine Savings FCU announced its intentions to open a new branch on Forest Avenue in Portland.

According to a release from cPort CU, the new branch is under construction and is designed to "give people in downtown Portland easier access in an area of the city that is undergoing tremendous growth."  When completed, the new branch will bring cPort CU's total number of branches to five.  "We place tremendous value on the face-to-face relationships we have with our members.  We look forward to connecting with many new members at our third Portland location," said Gene Ardito, President/CEO.

For Maine Savings FCU, its new branch will mark its first branch south of Augusta, and "enable it to serve members and new members in southern Maine."  The branch, which will be located on Forest Avenue in Portland and is slated to open in July, will bring the CU's total branch count to eleven.  John Reed, President/CEO of the CU, explained, "We continue to reinvest in branches around the state to ensure superior member experience is achieved."
