The Ending Hunger $100,000 Challenge Is Moving to October

The $100,000 Ending Hunger Challenge, which typically takes place during the month of June in support of National Hunger Awareness Month, is moving to October this year! Our League hopes we can still count on your credit union’s support of this annual fundraising event aimed at raising $100,000 for the Campaign for Ending Hunger in just one month.

There are many great benefits to moving the Challenge to the month of October. Most importantly, it allows our fundraising efforts to assist local food organizations—and subsequently those in need—as our state heads back into the cold, frigid temperatures that come during the fall and winter seasons when many Mainers struggle with food insecurity and making ends meet.

It will also coincide with our collective and individual celebration of International Credit Union Day on Thursday, October 17, 2024. And it doesn’t hurt that October has 31 days to fundraise—a bonus day compared to June! With all of this and so much more to ramp up fall fundraising, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved and support the Campaign. The League can’t wait to see what you do!
