Story on Immigrant Entrepreneurs cites Maine CUs as lending resources

In an article on immigrant entrepeneurs that appeared in the most recent issue of Mainebiz, the state’s leading, bi-weekly business publication, two Maine CUs were highlighted as resources for established and aspiring entrepreneurs.

“We have a well-established relationship with the reporter who wrote the story, and were contacted by her asking to speak with credit unions that do significant work with immigrants.  She contacted several, and we were pleased that credit unions were the only financial institutions listed as resources in the story.  It not only provided an opportunity to highlight credit unions as small business lenders but also the ‘people helping people’ philosophy that credit unions are known for,” remarked Todd Mason, President/CEO of the Maine Credit Union League.

cPort CU and Infinity FCU were both cited in the story for “offering citizenship loans and financial support to small businesses, having worked with new Mainer entrepreneurs.”
