SBA Announces Webinars for Lenders & Small Business Owners


The Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced it will be holding a series of webinars designed for lenders, small business owners, and lending partners. Dates, topics, and registration information is listed below:

Lender Webinar Forgiveness Q&A (August 7 at 10 am): Although the SBA doesn’t have all the answers, representatives from the SBA will talk about a few of the most commonly asked questions on this call to discuss the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) forgiveness process for lenders.

SBA Loan Programs & Technical Assistance Programs (August 11 at 10 am): If you are thinking about starting your own business, or already own a small business and want it to grow, then please join the SBA for this no-cost informative webinar. SBA Tools for Your Small Business Exporters in Maine for Lenders (August 13 at 10 am): The SBA and its partners provide assistance to not only start a business, but to grow your business by providing assistance to access new global markets. The Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Maine International Trade Center (MITC), the SBA Maine District Office, and the SBA Maine’s 2019 Exporter of the Year are conducting a webinar to provide you with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration to explore your possibility to access global markets. The SBA Export Guaranteed Loan programs also will be discussed.

SBA Surety Bond Program (August 13 at 11 am): Save the date for a discussion with SBA Surety Bond specialist Jennifer Black and Northern Maine Senior Area Manager Jim Pineau. Surety bonds help small businesses win contracts by providing the customer with a guarantee that the work will be completed. Many public and private contracts require surety bonds, which are offered by surety companies. The SBA guarantees surety bonds for certain surety companies, which allows the companies to offer surety bonds to small businesses that might not meet the criteria for other sureties.
