Reporting Your CU Volunteer Hours

With July behind us, we’re officially past the halfway mark of 2021. Have you reported your credit union’s volunteer hours for the first half of the year? If not, it’s not too late! With the CUs Share for ME form, tracking your volunteerism has never been easier. With a few simple clicks, you can report your philanthropic efforts and help the League track and quantify the collective impact our credit unions have within their communities.

How does the CUs Share for ME form work? Simply enter the name of your credit union, what month your staff volunteered, and how many staff members volunteered. After that, select the philanthropic effort(s) from the provided list and click “submit.” It’s that easy!

Submitting your credit union’s volunteer hours is important. This form helps the League communicate the collective efforts our credit unions make to enhance their communities to the media, elected officials, and general public. As part of the League’s legislative advocacy strategy, we often share our outreach efforts with policymakers in Augusta and in Washington, DC. Plus, it’s important that credit union efforts are recognized.

“Maine credit unions reported spending 13,444 hours volunteering last year,” said Jake Holmes, the League’s Financial Literacy Outreach Coordinator. “According to the Independent Sector, those efforts are worth approximately $356,676 in donated time. For the food pantries, animal shelters, Special Olympics organizers, and others, the outreach from credit union volunteers was priceless.”

If your credit union needs assistance using CUs Share for ME, email Jake Holmes at jholmes@mainecul.org, or call him at 207.773.5671, ext. 266.

Please note, you must be logged into the League’s website to complete the online form.
