Northeast CU Mourns Passing of Board Chairman Philip Sullivan

It is with great sadness that Northeast Credit Union announces the passing of its longtime Board Chair, Philip “Phil” Sullivan. Phil passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 at the age of 77 after a short illness.

Phil was born in 1942 in Woburn, Massachusetts and graduated from Wilmington High School in 1960. He attended Bentley School of Accounting & Finance, and completed various business and math courses at Lowell Tech. Phil was retired from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) where he was responsible for supervising Revenue Officers in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Phil was a member at Northeast Credit Union for over 44 years. For the past 38 years he served as a volunteer. He was a Supervisory Committee member and then was on the Board of Directors, serving 29 of those years as the Board Chair.

“Phil’s wisdom and perspective helped guide and shape our credit union for the past 38 years, especially during transitional moments that shaped our credit union’s history,” stated Timothy J. Collia, Northeast Credit Union’s President & CEO. “His leadership, support, and guidance will be missed. Our condolences go out to the Sullivan family.”
