New initiative offering scholarship for a small CU to attend GAC

Time is running out for credit unions in Maine with under $100 million in assets to sign up for an opportunity to win a scholarship to attend the 2018 Governmental Affairs Conference in February.  The deadline to enter is Friday, January 18, so read on now to find out how.

The small credit union scholarship contest for the 2018 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference is coordinated by CUNA.  For CUs with under $100 million in assets, sign up for a Small Credit Union Community Daily Digest email notification and post a question or response on the discussion by the end of the day on January 19.  When you do, you'll receive entry into a drawing for a full-ride scholarship to GAC.

Tom Sakash, CUNA's Small Credit Union Advisor, explained the benefits of being part of the Small Credit Union Community.  "You'll stay connected to your small credit union peers from across the country all year long, delivering you access to a huge network of knowledge and advice for your daily needs as a small credit union. It's like 24/7 networking -- allowing you to ask for sample policies, vendor referrals, or about any pressing question you have about your shop. Check out today's Discussion for an idea of what your peers are discussing lately.

The winners of the scholarship will be announced on Jan. 29 in the Community. Also, Sakash reminds CUs to make sure that once you subscribe that the emails aren't going to junk mail.
