Maine Savings Celebrates Pi Day with a Sweet Fundraiser

March 14 has become synonymous for celebrating the mathematical constant π, but you don’t need to be a mathematician or physicist to get in on the fun. Just ask the team from Maine Savings FCU. They came up with a creative way to celebrate Pi Day and raise money for the Campaign for Ending Hunger all at the same time.

At each Maine Savings FCU branch, employees and members were encouraged to donate to the Campaign for a chance to select the staff members who would get a pie to the face on Pi Day. Those who voted could contribute any amount to the Campaign.

Thanks to this festive endeavor and the credit union’s good sports, Maine Savings FCU raised almost $2,000—a sweet result on a special day.
