Maine Highlands FCU cares deeply about the community and works hard to ensure those in need have access to healthy, nutritious meals. When Center Theatre for the Performing Arts sent out a request for help with their Fill the Seats Community Food Drive, the credit union’s team answered the call. Maine Highlands FCU and its Dover-Foxcroft branch employees donated to the effort.
The food drive ran from March 27 – April 7. Non-perishable food, diapers, and toiletries were collected and donated to the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Center.
“For the last couple of years, we have donated to the Fill the Seats Food Drive that Center Theatre hosts,” shared Tammie Allen, Maine Highlands FCU Dover-Foxcroft employee. “They fill the seats in their large theatre with food and other necessities, and donate all of it to the Dover-Foxcroft Area Food Center. According to the Center Theatre’s Facebook page, this year alone, they collected hundreds of pounds of food and nearly $1,000 in monetary donations. Maine Highlands provided a donation for the Dover-Foxcroft branch to purchase food, and the employees there bought hygiene items to donate as it seems there is also a huge need for those items as well.”
