Maine CUs can help state's two CMN hospitals share in $100,000 giveaway

The Credit Union for Kids 'Vote for Miracles' campaign to benefit Children's Miracle Network hospital is an opportunity for Maine CUs and members to help one or both of the state's two CMN hospitals share in $100,000 in prize money, compliments of CO-OP Financial Services and CU Direct.  Through December 19, the general public is invited to cast votes in support of their favorite Children's Miracle Network Hospital. At the conclusion of the promotion, the top five hospitals in the country will receive a share of a $100,000 donation on behalf of America's credit unions.

In Maine, the local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals are The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center in Portland; and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League, encouraged Maine CUs to engage in this campaign.  "I know there are already a number of credit unions in Maine who support CMN through various efforts, and this is one more way that they can do so.  If one or both Maine hospitals received some of these funds, it would be great for Maine and for CUs."

Members and employees can vote daily for their local CMN Hospital at VoteforMiracles.org. The hospital with the most votes will win $50,000. Second through fifth place will receive $20,000, $15,000, $10,000 and $ 5,000, respectively.

"CO-OP Financial Services is proud to partner with CU Direct to provide the $100,000 on behalf of the credit union movement," said Joe Franklin, vice president, Experiential Marketing and Engagement. "We believe Vote for Miracles is a powerful opportunity to showcase the credit union difference to a large national audience and, of course, it goes towards a tremendously worthy cause."

2017 marks the first time CU Direct has joined the Vote for Miracles effort.

"As a longtime supporter of the Credit Unions for Kids program, CU Direct and its employees are excited to partner with CO-OP Financial Services to sponsor this year's Vote for Miracles campaign," said Tony Boutelle, president and CEO, CU Direct.  "We are not only contributing much-needed funds for the top five winning hospitals, but we are also highlighting the wonderful work credit unions are doing to support their local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals throughout the U.S."

In addition to voting at www.VoteForMiracles.org, the public can also learn about the "Credit Union Difference" and how to share the hashtag #VoteForMiracles to raise support for their favorite Children's Miracle Network Hospital.
