Maine CU League's Annual Meeting & Convention getting ever closer

The days are getting longer, more snow is melting each day (though Mother Nature may have another wintry surprise in store before snow shovels and snowblowers can be put away for good), and the calendar is changing to April.  As hard as it is to believe, the Maine CU League's 80th Annual Meeting & Convention is barely seven weeks away.  This year's Annual Meeting & Convention takes place May 18-19, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, with host of interesting speakers, learning opportunities, lots of networking, entertainment and recognition during the two-day gathering of credit union officials and partners from across Maine.

Cheryl Lancaster, SVP of Member Services for the Maine CU League, explained, "The League, working with our Annual Meeting and Convention Committee, has put together a diverse program of speakers, events, and made some changes to the program to maximize the experience for attendees.  This is the League's signature event of the year so we are hoping to have a great turnout from credit unions across the state."

Lancaster said the Exhibit Area is sold-out, and registration for the Convention and the Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet are off to a strong start, too.  She said there are speakers lined up for this year's Convention to appeal to a wide-range of audiences.  "From highly-regarded general speakers talking about skills and aimed at motivating and inspiring to others that will cover timely topics, such as the impact of fintech on financial services, financial literacy for volunteers and fudiciary responsibility for volunteers, there is something for everyone to get out of our sessions."

The Convention program also includes the League's 80th Annual Meeting on Friday, May 18, for Delegates and alternates, a special lunch for all other attendees, ann extended Silent Auction for Ending Hunger with bidding taking place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet on Friday evening followed by Magician Dennis Watkins, and music and comedy from The Water Coolers.
