Maine CU Attendance Tops 70 For CUNA’s Annual GAC, Time To Join Remains

Although registrations of Maine credit union representatives attending the 2015 Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) 2015 Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC) has topped 70, there is still room for additional attendees.

The 2015 GAC takes place March 8-12, in Washington, D.C., with your League's Annual Breakfast with Maine's Congressional Breakfast held in conjunction with the Conference on Tuesday, March 10, on Capitol Hill.  With changes in leadership and priorities in Congress taking place, being visible and involved in governmental affairs has taken on "added importance."  In addition to your League's Breakfast, the Conference itself includes a number of high-profile speakers, such as Arianna Huffington, President of the well-known Huffington Post News Service, General Stanley McChrystal (Ret.), former commander and of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan, and, just added, Ari Fleischer, former Press Secretary for President George W. Bush and a past speaker at your League's Annual Legislative Forum.  A number of political leaders from both parties, as well as regulators are also expected to speak at this year's Conference.

This year, Maine attendees will be staying in a new hotel, The Renaissance, which is conveniently located across from the Washington Convention Center and near Capitol Hill.  Your League will be hosting a Welcome Reception on Sunday evening for attendees, and a group dinner, sponsored by Synergent, CUNA Mutual and TRICORP FCU, on Monday evening.
