IRA workshops to cover both basic and advanced concepts

Whether you are looking for a beginner session or an advanced training on Individual Retirement Accounts, your League has you covered this month. On March 27 and 28, your League will host two separate conferences at the Senator Inn in Augusta covering IRA topics.

  • IRA Essentials Workshop  – Tuesday, March 27 | 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This workshop gives attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave this session able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. This is a beginner’s session—no previous IRA knowledge is assumed. Some basic IRA topics include establishing an IRA and how to fund an IRA.
  • IRA Advanced Workshop – Wednesday, March 28 |9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The IRA Advanced Workshop builds on the attendees’ knowledge of IRA basics to address some of the more complex IRA issues the credit union may handle. This is an advanced session; previous IRA knowledge is assumed. The instructor uses real-world exercises to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Some advanced topics include advanced portability, required minimum distributions, and beneficiary options.
