Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has once again been selected to benefit from Hannaford Supermarket’s Fight Hunger Bag program next month at two locations—Fort Kent and Westbrook! The Campaign will receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag sold at these Hannaford stores (62 West Main Street | Fort Kent; 7 Hannaford Drive | Westbrook) in June.
If your credit union has a branch located within a short drive from either of these locations, we hope you will consider sharing information about this unique fundraiser with your staff, volunteers, and members next month. These stores are the only locations where a Fight Hunger Bag purchase will benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger. All funds raised will be directed into the Campaign’s general account.
Fight Hunger Bags are located on displays around the store and at the checkout. Buying a bag is a simple and environmentally friendly way to support the Campaign during National Hunger Awareness Month.
Hannaford has created a variety of promotional materials credit unions can use to help advertise the fundraiser including:
- Sample email to share with staff/volunteers/members (the messaging template can also be used to develop social media posts)
- Social media graphic (please just be sure to reference either the Fort Kent or Westbrook store)
- Printable flyers (prints on a standard 8.5” X 11” piece of paper)
