Among the gift-giving, gatherings with family, traveling and all of the other aspects that come with the holidays, it is important that the deadline to submit funds for the 2017 Maine CUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger is not lost in the celebration. All funds for the 2017 Campaign are due to the Maine CU League by Friday, January 5, 2018.
"The flow of checks coming into the League daily has increased in the past week or so, and we anticipate that pace to only increase as the deadline approaches. We know there are some last-minute fundraisers taking place at credit unions so that's why the deadline is not until after the new year. This is an exciting time, as the amount raised grows each day; hopefully, culminating with an impressive final total," stated Jon Paradise, Vice President of Public Affairs and Engagement for the Maine CU League, adding, "We hope to have 100% participation from credit unions this year, because that sends a powerful message about the cooperative spirit and the support of the Campaign. For any credit union that hasn't done a fundraiser for ending hunger, they can make a corporate contribution to the Campaign. The best news is that they will get at least 100% of all funds contributed back to distribute to the hunger organization(s) of their choice."
Checks or money orders should be sent to the Maine CU League (payable to Ending Hunger), PO Box 1236, Portland ME 04104. Please have all funds to your League by close of business on Friday, January 5, 2018.
