CU Orientation gives CU representatives from across state an up close look at the support, services available at CU Service Center

Nearly 50 credit union staff from CUs across the state participated in the Maine CU League’s bi-annual Credit Union Orientation on Wednesday, March 7, at the CU Service Center.  During the day-long program, participants heard an overview of many of the services and functions provided by various League and Synergent staff, CUNA Mutual, and the other organizations located at the CU Service Center.

Additionally, participants received a tour of the facility, an opportunity to network with other CU professionals and to gain valuable insight on the League and Synergent’s, along with other entities, role in helping credit unions.  “The Credit Union Service Center belongs to the credit unions we serve, and the knowledge, resources and support available to credit unions is often unknown until staff participates in Orientation.  We exist to serve and support credit unions so the opportunity to educate and inform credit union staff is one we believe is very important,” stated Cheryl Lancaster, EVP of Member Services for the Maine Credit Union League.

Participants agreed that the Orientation is “time well spent.”  One attendee remarked, “I had no idea all of the resources that are available through email or a phone call.  It’s nice to know that we have so many great people to reach out to when we need assistance.”  Another added, “It was nice to put a face with people I speak with or communicate with on a regular basis.  This was a really insightful and informative day.”

The next CU Orientation will be held in the fall.
