Credit Union Day at the State House registration begins

In an effort to provide for more time and opportunity for Maine CU representatives to connect with legislators, your League has unveiled plans for an extended Maine CU Day at the State House in Augusta this year.  The 2018 Maine CU Day at the State House takes place on Thursday, March 15, from 8 a.m. - Noon, with both breakfast and lunch available.

"With the schedule and demands of legislators, they are being pulled in a number of directions and have limited time for events.  With a focus on being flexible, we adjusted the hours of CU Day at the State House this year to appeal to those legislators who may arrive early at the State House, and those right after session ends.  We listened to legislators and credit union representatives in an effort to increase the opportunity for them to connect with each other," said Elise Baldacci, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Maine CU League.

Baldacci stressed the importance of having as many credit unions represented in Augusta as possible.  "While we would love to have multiple officials from each credit union attend, our primary emphasis is on having each credit union represented.  Legislators specifically look to connect from their local credit union when they stop by our event so we want to be able to make that connection.  Hopefully, the extended hours will increase the likelihood of that happening."

While the event takes place from 8 a.m. - Noon, credit union representatives can come for as little or as long as their schedules allow.  "It's about being there, not necessarily the amount of time you are able to stay," added Baldacci.

Registration for this year's event is now open.  Click here to register online; click here to download a form to list all attendees and time availability; or email Elise Baldacci.
