In honor of International Credit Union Day, the League is encouraging credit unions to participate in our quarterly Dress Down Week to raise funds for the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC). CULAC is the premier political action committee (PAC) of the credit union system and the CUNA/League system’s primary means of supporting pro-credit union candidates for office at both the state and federal levels.
Credit unions are allowed to operate because of political action. With our movement facing continual challenges from banks and politicians alike, CULAC is an important tool to help protect credit union interests. CULAC allows us to advocate on behalf of credit unions and donate to candidates who share our ethics and values, regardless of their political party.
You can help strengthen CULAC through Dress Down Week. If your credit union participates, you will be allowed to wear casual clothes during the week of Monday, October 16 – Friday, October 20 in exchange for donating to CULAC. If your credit union would like to choose a different week, or participate in some other fashion, please contact our League and we can develop a program that works for you.
Donations are voluntary and are not tax-deductible. Dress Down Week is a great way to engage and make sure the People Helping People movement remains vibrant. For additional information, visit our website.
