Campaign for Ending Hunger Golf Tournament Raises Over $50,000

Team Cumberland County FCU captured their day at Belgrade Lakes Golf Club. This lucky team took home Top Male and Top Female Golf Score.

The first-ever virtual Campaign for Ending Hunger Golf Tournament is now complete and we are pleased to announce the tournament raised a remarkable $50,140 for the Campaign! Money raised from this event will stay in Maine to support organizations like Good Shepherd Food Bank, Full Plates Full Potential, community food pantries, schools, and more.

26 teams participated in tournament play at the Dunegrass Golf Club, Belgrade Lakes Golf Club, or the Mars Hill Country Club. Bragging rights for Top Male Golf Score go to John Kirk from Team Cumberland County FCU. Cindy Hazelton, also from Team Cumberland County FCU, earned the Top Female Golf Score. Both winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to the Belgrade Lakes Golf Club.

Many credit unions, vendors, and local businesses served as sponsors of this year’s tournament. In recognition of their generous contributions, the League created a short video to thank them for their support. We hope you will join us in thanking them, too!

The League looks forward to hosting our annual tournament in 2021 and we are keeping our fingers crossed that we can resume in-person play next year. The League will share details about the timing and location of a 2021 tournament once plans are finalized.
