Bangor FCU Donates $10,000 to Loaves & Fishes in Ellsworth to Help Combat Food Insecurity

Bangor FCU presents a check to Loaves & Fishes to help fight food insecurity in Hancock County.

Monday morning, several employees from Bangor FCU met with volunteers at Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Ellsworth to present the organization with a check for $10,000. The donation will help aid Loaves & Fishes’ efforts to fight food insecurity in Hancock County.

Loaves & Fishes is one of the largest food pantries in Hancock County—serving approximately 7,100 people. The organization has seen a massive uptick in need from the community, experiencing a 70% increase in pantry usage in recent years.

“Giving back to our communities is a large part of our mission,” shared Cody Morgan, Marketing Director at Bangor FCU. “That’s what makes moments like this so immensely special to us. We feel so incredibly blessed to be able support them and their continued movement towards ending food insecurity in our neighborhoods, amongst our friends, and in our families.”
