Acadia FCU and the League Mourn the Passing of Peter Saucier

Acadia FCU is mourning the passing of their friend Peter Saucier, who died on May 19. Saucier was a community leader who proudly served on Acadia FCU’s Board of Directors for the past 28 years.

Saucier was first elected to Acadia FCU’s Board in 1996 when it was Fort Kent FCU. During his years of volunteer service, he oversaw many changes at the credit union, as the organization grew. Through it all, he always had the best interests of the members in mind. He was a strong advocate of the credit union movement and a champion of Acadia FCU’s mission of enriching the lives of others.

In a tribute to Saucier on Acadia FCU’s Facebook page, the credit union shared, “Anyone who knew Peter Saucier has a story to tell. If you had an encounter with him, you remember it well and words such as helpful, thoughtful, gentle, kind, positive, funny, and/or caring will be woven into your story. His easy-going nature made him a friend to all; whether you were meeting him for the first time or had known him for many years, he made you feel welcome, valued, and understood.

We are left with a profound sense of loss, but also with deep gratitude for having known Pete. His legacy is one of love, kindness, and unwavering positivity. His memory will inspire us to be better, kinder, and more compassionate. We will do better, for him.”

The League joins Acadia FCU in extending our condolences to his wife, Diane; daughters, Angela and Jill; grandchildren; and his extended family. A link to his obituary can be found here.
