2024 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards Nominations Open

The National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) has opened nominations for the 2024 Herb Wegner Memorial Awards.

The awards are the credit union movement’s highest national honors and recognize outstanding leaders, programs, and organizations that have made a lasting impact on the movement. They are presented each year at the Foundation Dinner—the Foundation’s annual fundraising event.

Nominations can be made in two categories:

  • Outstanding Individual Achievement, honoring an individual dedicated to promoting the credit union philosophy, whose leadership has had a lasting impact on the credit union movement.
  • Outstanding Organization or Program, honoring innovative institutions or initiatives that have measurably improved the local, national, or international credit union system.

“Coming together at the Foundation Dinner every year is the credit union movement’s one time to celebrate our modern-day pioneers,” said Gigi Hyland, Executive Director of the Foundation. “The awardees inspire us all to do more and to reinvigorate our commitment to credit unions and to improving financial well-being for all. Please take the time to consider nominating an individual or organization for this most prestigious recognition. Nominees must embody the credit union movement’s People Helping People philosophy and work(ed) to create opportunities for and improve the lives of members, employees, and communities.”

To submit a nomination, individuals and organizations should complete and return the Herb Wegner Memorial Award Nomination Packet with a minimum of five supportive references. Deadline for submission is July 28, 2023.
