The 87th Annual Convention and Exhibit Show, now known as Elevate, will be taking place on May 15 and 16, 2025. The League invites invite you to save these dates on your calendars! A full agenda is planned with keynotes, breakout sessions, an exhibit show, silent auction, the annual awards program, and plenty of opportunities for networking and socializing.
Hanna Stevens of Lisbon Community School Awarded $5,000 George Roy Community Grant to Build Student Garden
Lisbon Community FCU is proud to announce that the inaugural George Roy Community Grant has been awarded to Hanna Stevens, School Counselor at Lisbon Community School. She will use the $5,000 grant to create a student garden aimed at enhancing outdoor education and fostering a deeper connection to
nature.
Registration Open for January 23 NCUA/CDFI Webinar on Grant Opportunities
Credit unions interested in Community Development Financial Institutions Fund grants can get valuable information on a January 23 webinar hosted by the National Credit Union Administration and the CDFI Fund. Online registration for this webinar, “Grant Opportunities from the CDFI Fund,” is now open. The webinar is scheduled to begin at 2:00 pm and last approximately 75 minutes. It will include a live question-and-answer session.
2024 Impact Report Showcases the Credit Union Difference in Maine
2024 was an outstanding year for collaboration. Maine credit unions and the League came together to uplift our communities and help Mainers from Caribou to Kittery achieve their financial goals. Each year, the League summarizes our shared accomplishments in our annual Impact Report. UCU Announces Staff Promotions and New Additions to Its Team
University CU (UCU) is pleased to announce three staff promotions. Stephanie Beck has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Community Development; Abbey Ramsay has advanced to Vice President of Lending; and Jess Francis has been promoted to HR & Executive Administrative Manager. Additionally, the credit union announced that Beth Beaudoin joined UCU as a Mortgage Origination Manager and Patrick “Coney” Quinn joined as a Consumer Lending Manager.

2025 is officially here, bringing us closer to an important deadline: January 15. That date marks the closing of our League’s Intent to Run form. If you or someone you know is interested in running for the Board this year, filling out this quick and easy form is a prerequisite.
CU News & Events - December Edition
This December, Maine’s credit unions displayed the festive spirit in all they did. From holiday sweater contests to fundraisers and community fun, credit unions worked hard to brighten the season for those around them. League Encourages Volunteerism Reporting Under New Name
Credit unions across Maine give back to their local communities in meaningful and creative ways. The People Helping People philosophy has long-been demonstrated through volunteerism efforts across the state, with credit unions reporting their efforts using the CUs Share for ME form. To better represent the mission of the program, the CUs Share for ME tool has undergone a name change—now being called the Volunteer Tracking tool. With a switch to a comprehensible name, the League will be able to more effectively convey our mission.
Fall Fundraisers Help Cumberland County FCU Generate Over $26,000 in Support to End Hunger
It was a busy fall at Cumberland County FCU. Through the remarkable support of their members, vendors, and staff, the credit union proudly raised an impressive $26,625 for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger.

Kicking off later this month, the CUWN will be offering a four-part series focusing on the complexities of Call Reports. HRCU Spreads Holiday Cheer During 11th Annual Christmas Caring Campaign
Last month, Holy Rosary CU (HRCU) donated $40,000 to 37 local nonprofits as part of its 11th annual Christmas Caring Campaign. Each year, HRCU staff and volunteers nominate local nonprofits that are creating meaningful change in communities across York County and the New Hampshire seacoast for these donations.
