National spotlight shining on Maine CUs

Despite Maine being a small state, the involvement and success happening at Maine credit unions is receiving lots of national attention and recognition.  "Maine CUs are not only committed to making a difference in Maine but nationally, as well.  It's nice to see that highlighted," explained Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League.

In October, Credit Union Magazine featured Jason Lindstrom (below), President/CEO of Evergreen CU, as one of the 2017 CU Rock Stars.  The story, recognizing Lindstrom and his philosophy as a leader, cited him as "a teamJason_Lindstrom_CEO_Evergreen_CU.JPG builder who has surrounded myself with good people.  As a result, Evergreen CU has the lowest employee and board turnover rate in its history.  I also believe it's important to never forget what members go through.  I've been there—had my debit card declined and experienced fraudulent use of my name.  I always try to put myself in members' shoes."

While Maine CUs were well-represented on the 2017 Best Places to Work in Maine list, three were named to the national list of Best Credit Unions to Work For.  TruChoice FCU was ranked #8 on the list, with Infinity FCU placing #15, and Town & Country FCU also making the prestigious list at #37.

In addition to recognition, Maine CUs were also involved in national programs and activities including the 2017 CUNA Management School; and sending a representative to CUNA's new Young Professionals Advocacy Training.

"Great things are happening with Maine credit unions and the individuals who work at them, so to see Maine CUs recognized and engaged in national publications and events speaks well for the strength of the Maine CU System," added Mason.
