From attending candidate and party fundraisers to connecting with legislators over lunch or at an Annual Meeting, many of the important legislative relationships are built and strengthened outside of the State House. Over the past few months, the League and Maine CUs have remained engaged and active participants in a host of legislator interactions. "It's about not only making connections but cultivating those connections to create lasting and positve relationships. The significant success and reputation that Maine CUs have in Augusta is a direct correlation with the ability and willingness of credit union representatives to get involved. The more connections Maine CUs can make and have with legislators, the more beneficial it is when there is an issue or bill to discuss," remarked Elise Baldacci, AVP of Governmental Affairs for the Maine CU League.

Rep. Ward attends Seaboard FCU's Annual Meeting

Last month, Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League, met with Rep. Ellie Espling, Assistant House Minority Leader, and Rep. Ken Fredette, House Minority Leader and CU Board Member, over lunch.
Senate Minority Leader visits League
Senator Troy Jackson, Senate Minority Leader, made a stop at the Maine Credit Union League's Offices a few weeks ago, to meet with Maine CU League President Todd Mason.
