Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee: Christine Allen, Central Maine FCU

For Christine Allen of Central Maine FCU, it was a complete surprise when her name was called as the recipient of the Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee.

A true testament to the impact an individual has on an organization is not just what their manager thinks of them but how their co-workers view them.  In the case of Christine Allen, VP of Financial Services at Central Maine FCU and the 2018 recipient of the Jeannette G. Morin Award for Outstanding CU Employee, she is well-thought of by both constituencies.

Described by co-workers as “an outstanding co-worker whom not only is the foundation for her department, but also a vital role in the credit union’s mission and company success.”  Vicki Stuart, President/CEO of the CU, noted, “I can’t tell you how lucky I am to have her on my team.  I truly do not know what I would do without her positive attitude, tenacity, determination and devotion to members.”

Allen, a 22-year employee of the credit union, started as the Accounting Clerk and worked in a variety of positions before her current one, VP of Financial Services, where she is in charge of lending, new accounts, collections and card services.  Stuart added, “Her dedication to our members is second-to-none.”

While some of the other award winners knew in advance, Allen did not so when her name was announced at the Maine CU League’s Annual Awards Banquet at Convention, she was, as she put it, “Speechless.  All I can say is ‘thank you’ very much for this honor.”
