Networking, education opportunities and thought provoking speakers can only mean one thing - the Maine Credit Union League's Annual Meeting & Convention.  This year's event, happening May 18-19, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, marks the 80th Annual Meeting and Convention coordinated by the League, and wording reinforcing the strong connection and partnership between the League and credit unions can be found on all materials.  The message of '80 years of Creating Connections' is a prominent and timely one as the need for expanded collaboration and cooperation remains an important piece of the continued future success of Maine's credit unions and the League.

"From a small group of individuals that came together to build an organization that existed solely for the purpose of promoting and growing credit unions in Maine to one of the strongest and most vibrant Leagues in the country as well as a thriving subsidiary in Synergent, connections have played an important role in the growth and popularity of the Credit Union System in Maine.  We have developed a program for the 2018 Annual Meeting and Convention that highlights the importance of strategy, innovation and working together.  There is something for all audiences as well as plenty of opportunities to connect with peers and vendors," remarked Cheryl Lancaster, EVP of Member Services for the Maine CU League.

In addition to engaging speakers and educational sessions specifically tailored to volunteers, the Annual Meeting and Convention will also feature a healthy dose of socializing for attendees including the Annual Dinner and Awards Banquet on Friday evening, May 18, and top-notch enterainment with award-winning corporate magician, Dennis Watkins, and music and comedy by the high-energy group, The Water Coolers.

Two Silent Auctions will also provide attendees with an opportunity to support two signature causes - the Maine CUs' Campaign for Ending Hunger; and CULAC.  The hours for the Silent Auction for Ending Hunger have been extended and it now begins at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m.  The CULAC Super Six will take place prior to the Dinner.

A limited number of sponsorship opportunities for the Convention Golf Tournament for Ending Hunger remain, but the field of golfers has long been sold-out.  The Exhibit Area is also sold-out.
