"Creating Connections" can be found on all materials highlighting the upcoming 2018 Maine Credit Union League's Annual Meeting & Convention happening May 18-19, at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.  "The success of Maine's credit unions and the League has come about from the connections and relationships that have been built, much like exists between credit unions and their members.  Without the connections that have and will be created, we wouldn't have achieved what we have as a system nor would I be so bullish on the future for the League and Maine's credit unions," stated Todd Mason, President of the Maine CU League.

Recently, the Convention and Annual Meeting process shifted to its next phase - attracting exhibitors, sponsors and ads for the Convention Book.  "All of the materials are out and have been sent out to many vendors and organizations that have expressed an interest in being a part of the Convention.  When that happens, it's pretty much all-in for our staff on Convention details and organization from now until the Convention itself," remarked Cheryl Lancaster, EVP of Member Services for the Maine CU League.

Lancaster said that the 2018 Convention will include several changes, such as a general session added to the first day of Convention, a special education session for CU Volunteers, and an expanded CU Management/Vendor Networking Exhibit Hall session.  In addition, the Silent Auction for Ending Hunger will start at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 18, and conclude just before the Social Hour begins.  "We wanted to offer an opportunity for more people to get in on the bidding, and allow attendees to focus on the evening activities without having to go and pick up their items and cash out," added Lancaster.

The unofficial kick-off to the Convention is Thursday, May 17, with the Annual Maine CU League Convention Golf Tournament for Ending Hunger.  Sponsorships are available for any budget and, at press time, a limited number of opportunities to play in the event are still available.
