International Credit Union Day is taking place on Thursday, October 20, 2022. On this day, credit unions from across the country and around the globe will come together to celebrate the credit union movement. Join the League and your credit union peers in highlighting how the People Helping People industry works to improve the financial lives of our members and uplift our communities.

The theme for this year’s International Credit Union Day is “Empower Your Financial Future with a Credit Union™.” Credit unions in Maine are encouraged to share social media stories of member empowerment to commemorate the occasion. Some credit unions may also decide to hold a fundraiser for Ending Hunger or CULAC, or host an open houses, contest, or picnic. It’s also a great time to reach to local schools in your community about hosting a Financial Fitness Fair, or providing them copies of Maine Credit Unions’ award-winning elementary curriculum. The options are limitless!
